Manufacturers MAKE hybrids to save on “gas and shit”. The tools are what make it a hybrid, not how it’s used. This is a concept car, a demonstration of the technology, not an actual product. See what the production version has and then judge what people will buy it for. If anything, think of it as a sweet hybrid, compared to a lame one (Prius).
Perhaps, but saying this car is in the same category as the fagot Prius is just insulting. But consumer buy hybrids to save money on gas and shit, I dont think anyone who buy’s this car will be using it for the same reason. It may built with the tools to be a hybrid, but really it isnt.
@Blitz3086
Hybrid just means it has both, regardless of ratio–This car is most definitely a hybrid.
Exactly my thoughts when they started releasing the mpg numbers on the hybrids, I guess I forgot haha. And that’s not even taking into account the ecological costs of both manufacturing and disposing of the hybrids. The CR-X obviously isn’t a high powered car, but you’re right TD is probably the way to go.
love it!
@Froasier Because the tech can be out done purely by better engineering. The honda CRX 4c. when new got about 60 miles to the gallon. Not only that but the actual emissions were lower because the CRX had cats. Hybrids run at a low enough temp that a cat will not work hence the reason hybrids do not have cats. A standard TDiesel is cleaner in comparison and also gets much better milage. The tech that should have been used is TD charged electric engines if they wanted to appeal to “GREEN”
why do you say hybrid technology is a joke?
@Alistair Weaver
I’ll stop salivating over looks if you stop randomly squinting indoors.
That car is SEXY
@rocknrollman1234 The carrera gt was a limited production car, which means they were only going to make it once… They aren’t replacing anything they are simply making a totally new model. To replace something would mean that they would have to still be making the carrera gt, but they only made 11xx in one single run and that was it. Also I am very impressed by the new body and chassi BUT hybrid technology is a joke. If they really wanted an amazing car they would have used turbine technolo
meh lamborghinis always look the same, i like that porsche.
LOL. I see.
Meh, my car is a hybrid, it has electric start. :p
It actually has around 700 horsepower with the electric motors. The top speed is just slightly less. I heard that it will cost nearly as much as the carrera gt as well. It sounds like replacing it to me.
Ya, doesn’t make sense that they would replace the CGT with this. For one thing, it has alot less HP than the CGT. I would imagine the top speed is less too.
@andy993 I don’t think they are going to replace the Carrera GT rather this is just their next super car.
@ProximitySymbol except the GT1 which already did… 10 years ago
Nothing will outdo the CGT
0:44 Floppy paddle gearbox….sweet. LMAO
lambos are all the same they need to have diversity plus german cars are some of the best built and fastest cars anywhere…on the track.
porsche is good but never will be that lamborghini
say hi to your mom..she was Great last night.
@idrinorbarsaku I hope so too.
They way I see it, VW put them back in their placethe place where they properly focus on building great cars. I believe we will be seeing even more cars that look this good from Porsche.
@idrinorbarsaku Ya, especially the back end and the interior. Porsche is starting to get their swagger back. They seem to have lost it since the late 90′s when they overhauled their production methods to more be more cost effective.
